The brief
The third version of my personal website. The previous version of my website wasn’t what I was looking for in my portfolio website and it needed updating. I wanted a fresh new look that represented my style as a designer and show off the skills I had learned over the past year.
Front end design
My website has always had blue as its defining colour, and this time was no different. My initial idea was inspired by some pictures taken on the edge of our atmosphere by a weather balloon. I liked how the light blue gradient seemed to almost glow in the darkness of space. At first, my design was pretty much as you see it now, except instead of the floral pattern I have in my background now, I had a light to dark blue gradient much like the edge of space, which is what I decided to name this redesign.
After much thought, I decided that the gradient didn’t really work well with the rest of the website and I began looking for an alternative background that had a vectored look to it. I came across the floral pattern and it worked perfectly as it is decorative as well as being vectored.
